"Photography in 'Altered' State"

An announcement from the June Fitzpatrick Gallery, High Street, Portland, regarding the photographs of Claire Seidl, reminds me that this photographer's moody, occult-tinged images can be seen there and also at CMCA in Rockport. At the latter, they are included in a show entitled "Altered Nature: Manipulated Photographs," which deals with the difficult issue of altering photographs in the name of artistic freedom.
